Katz presents at Union of Reform Judiasm Convention
The 2008 Union of Reform Judaism – Regional Biennial Convention was held at the Pfister Hotel November 6-9. Phillip Katz, the architect of the Congregation Emanuel expansion was a guest lecturer. The session was titled ‘Sanctuary Technology: a Guide from A to V’. The session was facilitated by Larry Glickman, Executive Director of Temple Chai , Long grove, Ilinois. Katz addressed the challenges and benefits of the integration of Audio and Visual technology in sacred spaces. Katz presented the renderings of the new sanctuary at Congregation Emanuel. A question answer session and workshop followed the lecture. This years URJ Biennial Convention was titled ‘Exploring Our Tree of Life’.
